The name Darth Vader that’s no moon shirt, hoodie, sweater and v-neck t-shirt was copied from the Soviet sci-fi novel called “The Andromeda Nebula” written by Ivan Yefremov back in 1957. One of the main characters of the novel is called Дар Ветер, pronounced roughly like Darr Veh-terr, or [dˈar vʲˈetʲɪr] in IPA, and literally meaning Gift Wind if translated from Russian. The novel was made into a movie of the same name in 1967. The novel itself was translated into many languages including, of course, English.
