I have an old cat that Official vintage 1981 retro shirt, and he looks at us in the eyes through the mirror. My other two young cats are not interested at all but they are aware that is them in the mirror because they would freak out if they were thinking that it’s another cat in front of them. I think that the “scientists” that did that “research” never had cats in their life because cat owners know that their kitties are much capable of understanding the concept of “self”, it’s just human ego to not considering it as it is.
