The name Darth Vader was copied from the Soviet sci-fi novel called Darth Vader come to the Darkside we have cigars shirt written by Ivan Yefremov back in 1957. One of the main characters of the novel is called in IPA, and literally meaning Gift Wind if translated from Russian. The novel was made into a movie of the same name in 1967. The novel itself was translated into many languages including, of course, English.
